The Clashing Voices Within
Today I woke up to a voice that wasn’t out,
Wrapped up in feelings, with clarity in doubt.
Debates rage on, with regrets unrefereed,
Echoes loud enough to make hearts bleed.
What the heart desires, the mind wants to please,
Guilt towering over, a burden hard to ease.
Lost in a land of confusion, like Normandy’s strife,
Sweating with within, struggling for life.
The air moves round like a marching band,
Yet, it feels thin, with battles close at hand.
The mind armed with programming, ready to attack,
A reality set in motion, a sobering fact.
Voices clash within, the heart and mind in strife,
An endless battle, a war fought for life.
