Days as reminders

The sound of the ocean waves,
Reminds me of my unsteady mind,
In my younger years.
Drifting through life,
With uncertainty and fear.
Craving guidance and love,
To ease the pain I held so dear.

Dying inside slowly seeking,
A way to heal and grow.
To shed the weight of my past,
And let my true self glow.
Learning to value my worth,
And embrace my inner strength.
Breaking through the mental barriers,
And finding peace at length.

The sound of the birds singing,
Reminds me of the days,
I found joy in the simple things,
And lived life in a daze.
But now I see with clarity,
And cherish every moment.
Grateful for the journey,
And all the lessons I’ve been sent.

I quite remember it all,
The ups and downs, the highs and lows.
But now I stand tall,
And let my true self show.
