Damaged ties with loose ends,
Easy to find and hard to mend,
We both played a part,
In breaking each other’s heart.

I misspoke with “I miss you’s”,
And I regret the damage I caused,
But every reaction I gave,
Was purely justified in the moment.

Your light may have blackened,
But we both know the truth,
We were both at fault,
And we both need redemption.

Love shouldn’t come with a price,
And I’ll love you for free,
But I need to know if,
The feeling is mutual and true.

Baby, in my mind,
You still live rent-free,
But we need to work together,
To rebuild what we used to be.

Let’s take responsibility,
For the mistakes we made,
And work towards healing,
So our love can be remade.

We may have stumbled before,
But with honesty and grace,
We can rise above it all,
